Minions getting Item Rarity
So I've got the keystone "Necromantic Aegis" which applies all bonuses from my shield to my minions.
I have 20+ minions and they are all getting 14% rarity increase. In 1 hour I got 3 uniques and an hour later Mirror of Kalandra. What the fuck is going on? I don't know how to link items in posts but this shit is crazy. I'm rebuilding my witch since my original necro is in legacy. Is this just blind luck or actually the keystone working? " 14%? Well hell, why even bother with my 140%? Chances are you just had one hell of a lucky run. Though, until there are verified links... Simply look at the bottom of your screen. See your characters? Click one. Off to the right there will be a link for your stash. You can simply click whichever item you want linked into your post. ...narf

Much better luck than I, that is for sure.
Across a total of 2 active characters, several former, and a total of over 200 levels and all difficulties...I have gotten but two uniques. One of which I traded for. Never a mirror, but then again most of us have not. Never a wealth mob. Next to no high end orbs. No maps. 1 Exalted. 1 Divine, from a trade for an epic rare chest I had crafted. 5 GCP, 2 were from a trade. 45 Alchemy Orbs. 25 of which came from a trade. So, only 20 on my own. 7 Chaos Orbs. Other than that, nothing but the basics. And that is with anywhere from 4 to 10 hours of game play a day. Every day. With an average time of around 6 hours a day. Gratz on the run of luck, truly a nice run. ...narf Last edited by SqueakyToyOfTerror#0940 on Aug 9, 2012, 11:46:19 AM

That's probably just an extreme of luck. The opposite extreme than the one people usually post about.
Regardless, congrats on your finds! Edit: Minions also get your total IIR and IIQ added to theirs for any kills they make, so they have more than 14% if you're wearing any other IIR/IIQ gear. Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus. First in the credits! Last edited by WhiteBoy#6717 on Aug 9, 2012, 11:27:41 AM

I thought minions should be part of my skill, thus, what they killed should have my Rarity/Quantity bonus.

" I did not know this. Maybe it is time to try a minion build. Thanks for throwing that out there about the rarity/quality for minions. ...narf Last edited by SqueakyToyOfTerror#0940 on Aug 9, 2012, 11:49:06 AM

So is the item rarity multiplied by the amount of minions I have?

Could you clarify what your theory is on why you got those unique items and the mirror?
If each minion had a total, individually, of 14% MF, you were just really lucky. If, however, you are saying your total magic find was bolstered by 14% * (number of minions), then that is another matter, as with 20 minions you'd have 280% MF from that alone, which is surely unintended, but could approach an explanation for why you got those items other than luck. |

"Y'know, I've never even stopped to think about this, but this isn't technically true anymore. It's still true for the iiq/iir support gems, as it always had been, but when I told people that, those were the only possible way to get iiq/iir stats on a minion, so it was true in all cases. I never anticipated Necromantic Aegis, and up until seeing it discussed here never realised it made something I'd said in the past false (and I've quite possibly repeated that in the time since NA was implemented without realising this). The reason the minion's iiq/iir from supports (which is all they ever used to get) got added to yours is that the support gems specifically work on things you kill, by telling an enemy you hit 'drop more stuff if this hit kills you'. So the minion would hit the enemy, the enemy would get the 'drop more if killed by this hit' thing, and then the kill would be assigned to you an benefit from your passive iiq/iir from gear. But now that minions can get iiq/iir from gear, that's not actually accounted for, since the kill is assigned to you - so that bonus is never applied on minions, only the support one. I'll talk with Chris and Carl at some point and see whether we want to change that (I suspect we will). Last edited by Mark_GGG#0000 on Aug 9, 2012, 9:14:39 PM
