detailed plan going CI witch. But I say the guy put too much in life nodes, I did fine with half of that
When leveling, it is a good idea to grab some hp nodes or hp on your gear since you will have to deal with chaos damage until you can grab CI and the nodes behind it. I swapped my EK shadow over to CI when he had 2500 ES without discipline and the nodes behind CI and am doing fine.
Can't imagine anyone wanting to go CI on anarchy/onslaught.

Are the stun recovery mods on items that bad?
Hmmm you dont want to play with dual totem..So there is always high chance to be stunned cuz in maps and lunaris you can get hit easily without seeing where they came from...Freezing is a good option but like i said you ll do the damage and when you get stunned once oh boy it keeps and keeps and keeps until you are dead:D dont forget act3 merciless is another stroy when you look at other acts..Just be careful with ci you need really high es...

yea stun recovery doesnt help so much..Best thing is to not being hit:D

maybe its undervalued by players thats all
personally i didnt try it.But i did read in some post that a player took all stun recovery nodes form skill tree and from items and he said that he got stun still very badly..I am just saying ofc you can try and inform us about that..

Hmpf -- point taken. I have just finished normal, and while I was clearly careless/overestimating the power of ice-tea at times, I did encounter a couple of deadly situations where distance and/or meatshield walls (hello staggered stuns) prevented me from killing the ranged bastards before I got stunlocked to death. In one particular instance I couldn't even move between the initial pull and the "resurrect in town" button. I can only imagine how much worse it's going to be on higher difficulty levels / maps.

Bleh. TBH I'm not sure what to do now. I usually enjoy experimenting, but on the other hand, since I'm totally new to this game, I wouldn't mind being able to farm some gear/orbs for my next characters. Maybe I'll just shelf this witch for a little while and pick a more farm-orientated character before coming back to this one.

*sigh*
