Ephemeral edge unique

can someone explain to me what 50% increased maximum energy shield means on this?
It has no energy shield on it, so it is 50% more of your total? 50% more of just your base equipment value? or what?

And how is someone supposed to understand that without research?

It behaves just like the "X% Increased Energy Shield" Passive Nodes. It'll increase your total Energy Shield, which is from your gear.

But it is additive with the Energy Shield bonus from Intelligence and from your Passives.

Example:
You have 100 Energy Shield from your Gear. 100 Intelligence. 6% Energy Shield Passives. And Ephemeral Edge.

100 Int / 10 * 2 = 20%
So you'd have 100% (Base ES) + 20% (Int Bonus) + 6% (Passives) + 50% (Ephemeral Edge), for a total of 176% Energy Shield, which would give you 176 ES.

If you had an Energy Shield 'More' Multiplier, like the Nodes after Chaos Innoculation, then that'd be multiplied after the others, ie. 176 * 1.X, where X is the Multiplier.
