Diamond Flask Balance : My Opinion

Posting inside of the news post will probably fall on deaf ears so I'll take a spin at Beta Feedback. Also are the suggestions and feedback board really different enough to have both?

Diamond Flasks should not operate based on Duration.
They should operate strictly on quantity of attacks.

I think Four Attacks at base quality is a legitimately usable flask.
at 10% quality you raise to five, and at 20% you go to six.

When they operate on duration they simply put too much emphasis on excessive attack speed which feels like a trend in this product.

All on-hit effects are likewise greatly increased by attack speed. Static Blows, life gain on hit, blind, notably.

Regarding Diamond Flask, I'm not convinced there need to be any offensive flasks at all.
I'm interested to see how broken (or not) they'll be after a solid month of usage on beta.

My gut says that CI builds will revert to running 4-5 of them and facerolling like the "good old days", and it will hurt build variety as it did in the past.
CI Crit build + 4 diamonds + Surgeon's granite.

What could possibly go wrong with the balance.

Well at least they're not a guaranteed crit now, though my old 2H sword duelist back in closed beta could pretty much one shot all map bosses with a diamond flask lol

I don't like this at all.

The only people who can use these are those who don't need to worry about defense, and those who already have high (30%+) crit chance.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say 99% of melee cannot use this, because they either need healing/armor/res or because they use RT or because they have a low crit chance, so they won't benefit much from this anyway.

This is a huge buff to ranged, especially spell casters.

GJ GGG, doing everything in your power to screw melee over.

Open beta release must have caused some sort of stack overflow in number of steps forward and reset to zero
Great.. more flask dependency forth coming... let's take the one of the weakest and most annoying parts of play and build upon it. :P

There's no point in giving feedback on the new diamond flask when it isn't even out yet.

But the premise behind it is that stacking more crit chance would give you better results at criticaling due to its "lucky" mechanic. The duration, flask charges, charge usage are still up in the air.
