PAtcher problem: cannot patch the game

Hi,

I haven't played PoE for some time and tonight when I wanted to try it out again I couldn't. I tried reinstalling the client but when it comes to patching I always get the same error but on different % of progress. It looks like this:



I have openAL32 installed for quite a long time and game used to work before this of course. Now I cannot update and play. I tried it over 10 times now, always same error. I have ~300GB free on partition where PoE is, just did a chkdsk on it, all is fine.

Happened to me just a bit before on my laptop and maybe it is the same reason.

If your Windows Session closes or you get to suspension or hibernation. Be sure to disable those options while downloading.

As you can read it says "Connection Failure" in the window.

Could also be internet disconnections.

Thank you but I am pretty sure it's none of the above. I am active in windows (7 x64) while that operation is being performed and I am on a desktop PC. My internet is 10mbit flat rate cable, I am listening to internet radio and browsing a bit in the background so internet should be fine. When I have internet disconnects they last for hours lol, otherwise it's pretty good connection. Also, Like I said, it happens at random places, a minute ago it happened at 99%, and sometimes it happens at 10-15%. Of course, when it happens I click "ok" and patcher closes and I have to repeat the whole deal... :/

Now that I see it, it is only the patching, so I guess you have no problems when downloading the 4GB client which is weird.

Since the error states it fails to write data into disk, try to "run as administrator" path of exile, maybe it is an access problem but it is weird since the client got no problems.

If it is not that, I can't think of another thing that a PoE server problem (which is 99% sure not the problem because the error says something else).

Well, I am logged in as administrator since I am the only one using this PC and things run that way by default, but I DID try it anyway, same thing.
BUT I kept running it over and over again and finally it passed the update. I have no idea what caused the problem but I kid you not I ran the patcher like 40 times so far and it finally made it. I made no changes whatsoever to the whole process...I just repeated it because I couldn't possibly see what error could it be on my side of things...

sooo, solution is, I guess, to keep at it? Dunno really...
