Anyone tried Melee zombies?

Im currently running Zombies+faster attacks+Multistrike+Minion damage. My zombies seem to eat up anything pretty quickly. Im curious if anyone has tested melee zombies? or am I best off going with krips fire zombies?
i'm not a huge fan of multistrike with minions... tends to suppress the dmg too much while really slowing down elite/boss kills.

melee minions are fine if you're not focusing on fire debuffing for spectres. the point of fire minions is to support your debuff actions (EE, flammability, etc)... the fire damage and ignites + spreading ignites will do a lot more damage than melee if you're debuffing fire.

basically i wouldn't do melee unless you were leaning away from fire spectres and doing some sort of hybrid build that didn't involve MI/fire dmg.
i prefer.

zombie + melee physical + remote mine + added fire damage

should be something like

minion damage passives/items * melee physical * remote mine * added fire

zombies don't scale off my attack speed as much since their base attack speed is already very low.

mine are added fire, proliferation, and ignite. pretty much everything is on fire all the time.

the ignites usually spread like wildfire and take out about 1/2 the life of white mobs of equal level. i'm not sure how it'll perform on maps but i imagine that dps is still significantly higher (and better at aoe) than melee zombies IF you're debuffing fire.

I use the same setup for the zombies.
It really depends on the playing style you want.
Ignite + proliferation provide better AOE but since my spectres are dealing goods AOE already,I want my zombies to be more single target oriented.
