Last quest in Act 3, Cruel. Weird thing is I die when it seems I'm not anywhere near anything, nor being hit/zapped, etc. Almost like I take the damage my minions take or something.

Tried it before it happens. Haven't tried it after dying. Will do.

Meaning my char is soft in that area?

actually you seem to have plenty. your gems is where you're really suffering. (altho your minions are near worthless as-is)

item rarity is a support gem, for example. it needs to be linked to something. after that, i'd figure out what direction you want your build to go. it looks like you're going fire and aoe, so focus on that if that's where you want to go. cut out some of the other attack spells you don't use as much and figure out what you can add to enhance what you do.

also i cleaned up your tree a bit. you spent waaaaayyy too many points on int nodes and some lesser nodes near witch tree. the build below keeps the identity of your build intact while freeing up 9 points and grabbing a few passives that'll help you out. i'd suggest using respec points to clean it out as suggested (or gut it further if you change your identity more)

with those 9 points, figure out what it is you want to really do. minions? then grab some nodes to support that. (btw zombie is easy to get. make a dummy character and it's one of the first rewards you'll get - http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Quest_Rewards) want to do more fire stuff? find some nodes to support it and focus on those.

biggest thing in poe is figure out what you want to do before you start your char and have a clear path in mind towards that.

Thanks a ton for the help Cronik. Will check it after I take the missus to lunch. :)

Could you be more specific? Lame? Wrong links? Both? Something Else?

Did refund and reallocate some of those to minion damage. Thanks much for the suggestions.

np man!

If this is your first character don't stress it too much... takes a while to get the hang of the PoE tree. Hybrid characters are almost impossible to build well, and often weaker than they normally are even in other games... you REALLY need to focus on a particular ability or two and then support that. ie making a cold witch, and then identifying what you want to support that offensively (crit or not, spell dmg, what cold areas you want to try to make it to and which aren't worth it) and what defensively (worth going down to get IR, do you want to get CI, do you want to just get lots of health nodes?), and then try to tie the two together (maybe there's some cold, spell crit, and hps all near the templar tree so you try to get to that fairly fast)

trying to do too much that sounds good at the time will leave you weaker later on, sadly. oh and no idea on the dying thing... probably desync like the others are talking about.

Is becoming slightly less foggy. The deaths are plaguing though. Tried desync before and after deaths, to no avail. I have a really fast connection (50mb/s) and a low-ish ping, so unsure.

Other thing is- I like using flaming curtains from Solaris Temple as spectres, but when they die, having to go back and reanimate one is vexing too. Not much I can do about that though.
