Weapons automods ideas and overall state of weapons.

1. There is too low number of ranged weapons in game. Ranged psychical playstyle MUST stay with bow and other playstyles has at least two weapon types to choose (for example magic has Staffs and Wand+Shield you can even go Dual Wield Wands in "Harry Potter Style") :)
Introduce at least Crossbows plz.

2. I have an idea how to make weapons type more different from each other. There are differrences ofc (damage, att spd, etc..) but i think you can do more. My idea is: AUTOMODS. Automods should be static on each item or can scale up with item types and item lvl. They may also be lowered on blue/yellows mobs - for example: Blue - -33% of time etc.., yellow -50%, boss -75%, something like this to prevent abusing.

There are my ideas and examples:

1. Bows -> "Supressing Fire" - X% Chance to slow down hitted enemy by X%
2. Crossbows -> "Headshot" - X% Chance to stun/confuse hitted enemy for X seconds.
3. Meele Staffs - dont have fukin idea here atm - sorry. :)
4. Wands - "expelliarmus" :) - X% chance to lower the psychical damage of enemy bo X% (this may come with disarm animation for humanoid mobs)
5. Claws - "hemorrhage" = X% chance to inflict bleding DOT on enemy for XX DMG for X seconds
6. Daggers - "Cheap Shot" - X% chance to hit enemy with ignoring its defensive stats (armour, Energy Shield, etc..)
7. One Handed Axe - "Limbs cut-off" - X% chance to lower the accuracy and chance to hit of enemy for X seconds.
8. Two handed Axes - "Decapitation" - X% chance (rather low to keeps things balanced) to instantly kill the normal enemy (not blue, yellow,boss)
9. One Hand maces -> "Armor Crusher" - X% chance of lowering amount or defenses of target for X seconds (may stack)
10. Two Handed maces -> "Head Crusher" - X% chance of stun the hitted enemy for X seconds.
11. Thrusting One Hamd Swords -> "Puncture Wounds" - X% chance of inflict longlasting but low in power bleed effect. Mix this with very fast att spd - fencing style combat eyc.. hit nad run.
12. One handed Swords - "Cleave Attack" - X% chance to inflict damage in 90 degree infront of character with each swing.
13. Two handed Swords - "Whirlwind Attack" - X% chance to do damage in 360 degree around character in each swing.

There is couple of ideas...

Whay do you think about this? Will this fit in HnS game? Will it be possible to balance to avoid focusing on one weapon ingame with best automod?

your idea for 2h swords would completely make sweep obsolete.

The 2h axe will need a buff in that case, since the higher the difficulty, the more noticable amount of champion, rare & unique monsters.

The automod for 1h sword would then also make Cleave as skill gem obsolete :)
Yeah i know. There are rather quick ideas.

After thonking maybe something suits more and doest obsolete anyhing that is already ingame:

One handed swords -> "counterattack" - X% chance to free additional blow for weapon damage after enemy block or parry in melee combat.

Two Handed swords -> "parry" - X% chance to parry enemy melle attack. This should avoid psychical and poison dmg but not elemental ones (shock, fire and cold) because they may hurt even only with contact with iron weapon taht is hold in hand.

Im sure that devs can come with some more creative ideas for this.
