PoE Helper (unofficial chrome extension to help with crafting/inventory)

I cleared all my data but that didn't work so I removed the extension and downloaded it again but it still doesn't work.

looks like they have removed one of the data feeds we use to get character names. might have to get it from elsewhere. bleh.

Ahh that sucks =(.

Could you do a hot fix without characters (just stash) for now so it keeps working or is that more of a bigger challenge?

Just my luck. Finally decided to try it out yesterday, only to have it stop working today, heh.
Not that it matters much though, my stash is relatively cleaned up and organized, and I'm really only after a few Regal Orbs at the moment.

I hope, for your convenience, that this will be relatively easy to fix.

Edit: By the way, does it update automatically via Chrome, or do you need to download it again after it's updated?

I'll probably have it going again pretty soon. I think they've embedded the char data into every page instead of getting it from where we are getting it.

Need the char names to figure out what leagues to load etc. shouldn't be too long to get it going again tho.

looks like github have changed the url for the autoupdate files. bleh.

you guys might have to uninstall and reinstall to get the fixed update :-/

Fixes the missing 'get-characters' service

Update 0.63:
Updates the autoupdate URL to the new one. grrr.

Easiest way to update is:

1) click https://raw.github.com/njs50/poe_ext/master/poe_ext.crx to download the file

2) Ignore the message about not being able to install

3) Go to chrome://extensions

4) Delete your current PoE Helper

5) drag the file you downloaded in 1 (should be on the bottom of your screen still) into this page.

Auto update has worked up until today. Bah!

I hope it was github changing the way they served XML files and not google deciding only app store apps can autoupdate.

BTW you can force an autoupdate (when it's working) by switching on developer mode on the chrome://extensions page and clicking the update all button (otherwise it can take an hour or two before it checks for updates).

Ah ok, thanks. I'm kind of new to extensions - in fact, this is the first extension I've ever downloaded :P

Either way, mine seems to be up and working again, and I didn't have to manually update it.
