Long loading times

Loading the game has not been quick for me either but patch 0.10.0f seems to have pushed it well over a minute. The time seems quite variable.

Edit: A quick test shows 1 minute 10 seconds on the loading screen.

I'm getting ridiculous loading times.

Starting up the game takes about 3 minutes.

Loading new zones takes 30 seconds - a minute.

Back in closed beta it was about 5 times faster loading everything.

Same experience!

First off, they are not caused by HDD->RAM loading times. My ggpk file is somewhat fragmented and sometimes I do get some excess HDD access during loading screens for that. I'm okay with this.

Does you read my post?

4 times faster from RAM. You really think HDD does not slowing start?
Half of all operations is reading resources blocks by 32kb and second half - is registry access.
Counter of all operations is 65489.

Holy fuck, did you read my post? At least the part you quoted? I said that I'm okay with the HDD load times. And I have no problem with the game's startup time either, only zone transitions under specific conditions.

I'm having a different issue leading to long loading times.

But the problem is different - after HDD activity stops, I'm still stuck in loading screen for a long period of time, for no apparent reason. Sometimes I even hear sounds of my party members fighting in the zone I'm still "loading".

A, okk.
I am having the same issues. Initial loading to login screen is upwards around 2-3 minutes. Ingame whenever I change zones it takes around 1 minute. Is this something that should be fixed on GGG's end or ours?

Wondering this myself. I wait Four-six minutes to load the game, and different areas can take 1-2minutes.
So i did a test. I deleted the log file in the /logs directory where the game is installed because i noticed the text file massive. After that load times dropped to near instant. Try deleting the log file and restarting the game.
Having the very same issue, really noticed it after the last update.

My log file's huge too, going to try "deleting" it.

EDIT

tried the log thing, can't really tell if it helped, loadtimes are still pretty big, but seem smaller, but I'm not sure

I'm having the same issues. The load times weren't this bad the first few times I played, but have gradually gotten worse. I've defraged, edited the short cut, etc... nothing works. Any progress on this issue?
Also having the same issue with loading times here. It's been gettin so bad that sometimes when the area loading is done I find my character dead, this is especially irritating while doing maps since you only get so many portals.

Edit:
For some reason my CPU usage goes up to ~95% while loading a area but stays down at ~30% while playing (without any background programs).
