Hatred Aura useful for a bow ranger?

Is this aura useful even though there are no cold damage arrows?
no it converts part of damage in cold damage

if you have enhanced elemental damage it could be useful
leveling it also starts adding some damage over the converted

What about using the Hatred aura with the Added Cold Damage support gem?

ALL Physical Rangers, for the good reason of the Ice Bite between duelist and ranger trees.

Those are different :
- Hatred adds general cold damage depending on your physical damages. It can also buff yours minions if u have somes, because it is an aura
- Cold Damage support gem adds cold damage depending on the gem level, on a specific spell.

What is a physical Ranger?

There are mainly 3 kinds of (bow) rangers :
- Elementarist rangers, based on Burning Arrow, Lightning Arrow and Elemental Arrow. They seek "+ Elemental dmg" nodes.
- Physical ranger, based on Split Arrow, Frenzy, Puncture, Blood Rage, sometimes poison arrow. They seek physical damage nodes first.
- The others : Crit builds, DoT builds (PA + Puncture + Curses)

In this particular case, Hatred bonus damage depends on your overall physical damage, so it is first of all for a physical ranger. In the other hand, the passive "Ice Bite" (+30% cold damage) is not far and can really buff the total damages.

For example, you are about lvl 45 and have Hatred lvl 11, which means 30% additionnal cold damages of your physical damage. Getting "Frost bite" on itself actually gives you about 7% more dps, which is insane for a little node.

Thanks for the explanation.
Or be like me, incorporate every type of build all into one:

- Utilize the Burning Arrow and Lightning Arrow for versatility attacks and not for the DPH
- stack the reachable elemental damage passives and elemental mods on equipment
- Utilize Poison Arrow for AoE/DoT
- Utilize Projectile Weakness
- Seek plently of physical damage passives when possible

So far I'm surviving pretty well in Merciless Act 2.
