Why online-only DRM?
I don't understand how troll threads get so many replies. Were all of you born yesterday?

i feel your pain on the disconnects over the open beta weekend, I think I ended up doing the 'chapel of sin' or whatever it's called, like 4 times before I finally got in far enough to hit the waypoint, due to DC's over the weekend.
but I started playing before this weekend and can tell you that I never got DC'd before they loaded up the server. Also rubber-banding is almost non-existent (I'm thankful!) so I'm optimistic that they'll be able to handle the always online requirement... I wouldn't be opposed to being able to purchase an offline solo play version, but i still like TL2 is going to be your thing if that's what you're looking for. |

" I've played only yesterday and got only 1 disconnect. But that doesn't mean that there won't be one when I almost kill some hard boss. |

" First, D3 servers did not get reverse engineered, they created the code themselves, and it does not function at all. You can check the last server emulator version and see it for yourself. Second online mod makes the game a lot harder to hack, and becouse this is competition oriented game, it is very important for them. For now, d3 except few dupe bugs that were fixed, is pretty good against game hacks, especially compared to d2. Also boots are not hacks, and online or offline doesnt do anything against it. The only way to stop bots, is with gameplay and game mechanics that are hard for computer to copy. Personally, I don't care about competition, ladder, races and would love to have a offline mode, but becose this is a F2P, I dont have anything agains it. |
