Fire damage, burning and fire resistance

Suppose an enemy has 50% fire resistance. I deal 600 fire damage, as a crit, and it applies burning, for 4/3rds of the damage dealt, over 4 seconds - which should be 200 fire damage per second.

Does this 200 fire damage per second get affected by fire resistance? So would it be 100 fire damage per second?
IRON MAN
Burning damage is affected by Fire Resists, yes.
So my hit is 1200, and after resists it's 600, which then applies burning for 200 per second, which after resists is 100 per second?
IRON MAN
Yes, resists are basically applied twice to burning damage.

So that would mean... going by fairness, if an enemy had -100% resistance, and I did 1200 damage, boosted to 2400, then applied burning, the burning would be applied at 800 per second, which after resists is 1600 per second?

Although I think I read somewhere that burning can't exceed more than 1/9th of a monster's HP per second.

Negative Fire Resists also apply twice, yes. It's still just Fire Resist, after all.

I have never heard of Burning damage being capped.
