Which part of the Dominus fight are you having trouble with? In normal difficulty, your minions will die real fast unless you have a matua patua shield which gives +2 to zombies and link RZ + ML + Minion Resists.
With normal Dominus you can either kite Dom around the south wall and hit him with Arc, or if you have minion instability, you can just keep summoning zombies and skeletons to blow him up. I think I just had a skeleton totem with faster casting when I did it.

When you are early in the summoner's life you'll want to rely more on other spells and not summoning. GGG been buffing early game summoning but they are still too weak vs bosses.

Use skills that scale well by its own like searing bond, flameblast, ect. While you summon minions more like distraction and expendable dps.

If u are using minion instability trick and have a 4-link put fire pen, chance to ignite or minion life there as well to speed up the process.

dominus = skeletons + party

I did dom norm in a 6man party, pets are quickly wiped out, but i just steady summoned skeletons buffed by hatred while the party did the rest.

Once you get past his lightning caster part the skeletons will actually live more than .5s and start doing lots of dmg.

You dont even need a totem you can just throw summon skeletons into a blue slot and self cast them. You wont need em again until cruel dominus.

I managed to killed his forst form by arc, and hi second form got wiped out by zombies with vitality + hp regen totrm + artic armor without any problems, i lost like 1 from 8 zombies.
Just the first form was pain =)

No. MoM does not work with energy shield. I believe it is what makes life on par with CI builds come late game, that 30%-40%-45% damage to mana before life is awesome.

45% is done with cloak and the corrupt mod.

Updated some more, with passive tree adjustment as you guys pointed out. There was a slightly better pathing to the aura node bottom-right. Netting 10 more str.

Updated gear/skill setup some more.

Alternative build path without cloak, focused on tank

120 point build, 304% life, super tank with high armor
Built up from my previous build and focused on as much tank as possible, this free's you from cloak reliance and allows you to wear the best rare chest piece you can get or belly of the beast for super max life.

gave arc + curse on hit + vulnerability + elepro/fast cast another try. Its pretty good once u get a high coh gem level to trigger curses often, arc spamming also adds more dps into the mix and minion ai is better when your attacking.

with that build dont forget to recomend Vis Mortis. and tbh i dont see the point of geting MOM on that build. i know its only 3 points away but if you run 5 auras you wouldn't have that much mana left. is just my opinion but with less than 300 mana tops i wouldn't get MOM.

I think you could turn off an aura if you are expecting to go into a high damage situation, and run 5 at other times.

How does the unholy might on Vis Mortis effect work for snapshotting? If I use a tabula rasa to get 6L zombies, can I then wear a Vis Mortis while mapping and also gain the unholy might ability? Or would I need to replace tabula rasa with a 6L vis mortis (or put my minions in a different slot and wear vis mortis while snapshotting)?

i think unholy might is snapshoted. so you need to raise them while wusing vis mortis. but that the chestpiece i want anyways, once i get a 6 link one ill probably swap to iron rflexes again.
