Spark Spider effect causes lag

Just bought the spider effect for spark and now my fps is all over the place. I removed the effect and fps is back to stable. Not sure if this has been posted before. I did a google search and didn't see anything about it.

Is there anything that can be done? I really enjoy the effect but it wreaks havoc on my fps.

Hey there,

I'm sorry to hear about this issue. We are experiencing a few bugs in regards to microtransactions at the moment but are working on fixing these. Could you please email us at "Support@GrindingGear.com" with this information so that we may pass it on to the appropriate team members?
Yeah, will do just that.

No longer convinced it is the spider effect. Now that I am paying closer attention I think it is just overall fps spikes. Still, no idea why and nothing has fixed it so far.

Hey again,

What have you tried in terms of fixing it? Could you please let me know which gateway you're connecting to and whether or not you've tried the others?
I seem to recall a developer's post regarding spiders effect where he confirmed that spiders (as opposed to standard sparks) are full-blown models with animation, which does make them more resource-intensive, so it could lead to lower FPS on slower computers. My computer is a bit old (not horribly so, but not the latest and greatest), and I do have some FPS drop when I use my spiders. Of course, this could be irrelevant to this problem, but in general spiders could make the FPS a bit worse.

After doing some digging on the forums and google, I have come to the conclusion I am just suffering from the chat fps problem. I just never really noticed it because I turn on adaptive vsync in nvidia control pannel. I have tried other gateways, I tried rolling back to all the whql drivers, tried overclocking my gpu a bit, bought an SSD and installed OS and poe to it, and it pretty much is the same.

It isn't game breaking for me, and I think the only reason I really started to notice it just recently is because I normally play with both chats muted but recently have trade chat displayed.

However it IS more... rapid I suppose, when spark spiders are on. I may try to re-install and see if that helps.

So after all of the above and a full re-install of POE, I am left with this

The spikes seem farm more intense now. The fps drops lower, almost to zero. Perhaps the fresh install got corrupted somehow...

This is VERY strange. My problem is NOT chat related. I was testing on my dual spork templar when I had all the fps issues. I hopped on my mara and ran docks and my fps was ALMOST flawlessly stable the entire time, with both global and trade open. Something is causing fps problems for me, but I think it is related to specifically to my templar.

The plot thickens! I removed both the tiki totem and spider spark effects and viola! ALMOST (still have some random spikes but not as consistant) perfectly stable fps. BTW, I am not sure if anyone has ever mentioned it, but when I get hit with ice shot in docks my fps instantly drops to zero every time on every char I have tested on.

edit: re-inserted just spiders, no tiki, and back to fps issues. No idea if this is just my computer but I have already done all of the generic fixes and no result.

Would appreciate if someone with both tiki and spider effects could do some testing in docks and see what they come up with. I would like to know if its on my end. Thanks
