NOOB question: Wand Damage / Elemental Damage nodes

noob question needs a bit of a confirmation / clarification
For Wand Elemental Damage nodes , the description is 8% increased Elemental Damage with Wands Does that mean my spell damage (say arc totem, or cast Freeze pulse) will increase ONLY if i am equip with a wand? Last bumped on Aug 13, 2017, 11:40:18 PM

No. It only increases damage you deal with the wand itself, using it to attack. It will not affect spell damage, as that isn't dealt with the wand.

i guess the same goes for physical damage with wand nodes , so they would not affect Etheral Knives which is a physical skill but also a spell not an attack ?
hm... the wording kinda implies it. "physical damage with <weapontype" in this case wand. ? IGN:

Yes, "increased [type] damage with [weapon]" means it increases damage of that type that you deal with that weapon. It does not apply to other damage of that type, such as spells, that you deal not with the weapon, but while you happen to be holding it.

Spells and attacks are different things.

So I know this thread is several years old. but I had a questions regarding this?
If i have say ranged attack totem with power siphon. Would passive skills like wand physical damage buff the totem attack as well? Also, along the same note I can assume if so that WAND attack speed and attack power (if the answer above is yes) would increase the attack speed of my totem? Thanks! |

" While totems are different enteties from you (and thus affected by defensive auras and not giving you on kill stuff), they use your offensife stats (which also prevents them from being affected by offensive auras). TL;DR: yes and yes. Please note though that you won't get any frenzy charges for the kills. I make dumb builds, therefore I am.
