+10 (Stat) Nodes

They're even less fun than the empty nodes in FFX's sphere grid.

" If every node was an uber keystone, then the grid will be a fraction of the size, and every build will be the same. These "minor" nodes make you plan a build, is it really worth 6 "crap" nodes to get to that 1 good one? Empty nodes in FFX sphere grid were fine, as points were essentially free and unlimited (tonberry exploit). Poor comparison is poor. |

Thanks for both putting words in my mouth AND misunderstanding the comparison.
Not once did i say every node had to be an "uber keystone", that's just you trying to take a thread and remove any legitimacy from its subject matter because you don't agree with it. As for the comparison, the fact that points were free and unlimited is completely beside the point. The point is that you could take those nodes and make them useful later on, and that they didn't always feel like a waste. Any comparison between the actual specific balance of the two systems (which are significantly different in their execution) is pointless. Also, based on what you said you just went AGAINST PoEs load of +10 nodes. " So because you can get so many points with no cap, having empty nodes is justified. That would seem to imply that in a system where points are heavily restricted in comparison to the overall tree, it would be a bad idea to have loads of junk nodes. |

This is why I don't really have any characters higher than mid 70's, at that point its all stat nodes trying to get to that last good node, and grinding that long for +10 stat nodes is the definition of boring to me.

If they cut down on the amount of +10 tax nodes all across the tree (on the class borders and starting highway borders), it wouldn't be AS painful grabbing them. They're essential to builds, but they could use a little more oomph for sure. Maybe a +3 to all HP/mana/accuracy?

" That's almost how they work already, +5 to health per 10 Strength, +5 to mana per 10 Intelligence, +20 to accuracy per 10 Dexterity. Each attribute also grants another bonus. |

I don't mind the 10 stat nodes. I usually need all 3 stats for gems/gear anyway, which means picking up some 30 stat nodes early and/or using gear with stats on. Eventually The 10 stat nodes on the way to the good stuff make it so that I no longer need unwanted 30 stat nodes or stats on gear.
