Kinda new.. is there a Pet Class in this game?

So as the title says, i will play the beta tomorrow and was just curios if there is a pet class type in the game?

I was dissapointed with the WD from Diablo 3 where the pets where like 1 shotted from everything .

The ranger is easily the best pet class. The bear makes an excellent tank pet, but you have to spend a ton of time fishing for food.

You've probably heard from videos/other people on the forums that this game doesn't necessarily have hard defined classes, you can really make very unique builds if you spend some time on skilldrasil and use your imagination.

With that said, yes, there is plenty of opportunities to have some help. You can summon zombies, skeletons, spectres. They are all quite viable as a main as well as a support build.

What I mean by that is I run with skellies on my ranger and I'm pretty heavy specced into bow passives. I just make sure to keep up my intelligence at good level (which helps with mana, so win win). They are my life saviors many a time.

Look up minion builds (especially check out videos on YouTube), not only it's pretty impressive, but it's quite a strong path to take.

P.S.: Hunters are so OP and fishing is only good if you buy a golden rod from the microtransaction store, so it's pretty p2w that way.

Totally incorrect, I'm getting tons of good fish (like the +armour one, stone fish or something?) with the crappy starter pole. BUT! I'm using really good bait, that's the "secret" more than anything.

Like I mentioned if you feed the bear a lot of the +armour fish, he makes an awesome tank, dies way less often than I do and can still do decent damage.
