POE running slow. I downloaded it on a mac. Is this normal?

You should just use bootcamp. I don't think there's anything you can do if you are using the port.

I've been running it on a Macbook Pro in Windows 7 on BootCamp. It's a 2009 MBP, so it's not winning any performance awards, but it's definitely playable.

Hopefully the parts for my new PC build will show up tomorrow and I can finally see POE in full glory.

either use bootcamp o buy a pc with windows, even a 300 usd one could run PoE (not at max res and video thingies probably, but it will run smoothly)

If it's any consolation, it runs pretty shitty using wine in linux too. I just dualboot for video games, I would recommend you do the same.

I just don't know how to use boot camp really lol. Do I need to buy a windows 7 key? I remember years ago they were expensive.

search for a tutorial on youtube, it's not that hard to use bootcamp. The key is around 70ish USD
