POE running slow. I downloaded it on a mac. Is this normal?

I run Diablo 3/Wow perfectly with no lag. I used the mac port to download/play POE. I'm not using boot camp! I put my resolution to the lowest setting but that didn't help too much. Anyone else have this issue? Any advice? I really want to give this game a chance! I'm an old school Diablo 2 LOD player and love the videos ive seen! Please help =(

WoW and Diablo 3 like every Blizzard game are made for Mac, so saying they run well goes without saying. To my knowledge PoE is not directly supported on a Mac. I don't think there's anything you can do except sell your Mac, get a refund for your leg and buy a PC.

the only upside to macs are the interface and the no virus thing.
If you want to play games, i would recommend a pc The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG

When in my office, I use Julus's wineskin package on my 27" 2011 imac. Runs like shit. When it gets hot and heavy (esp around Undying chaos alchemists) it's a virtual slideshow.

Why people buy macs and expect to play every game is beyond me.
Macs are not for games.. The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG

Macs are for many other things (I need it to run programs that fellow scientists are incapable of programming in windows/dos - and fuck command line shit). Sometimes it is what you have at the time.

Is anyone successfully playing POE on a mac? I have a 2.4 Ghz iMac. If so, how are you playing it? I don't want this to turn into a let's bash macs thread. I've played every game i've ever wanted to on my mac. I've never had a virus in over 10 years of having macs and never has my comp slowed down. So please if anyone is playing on a mac and it runs well please help me out =( I really want to give this game a chance!

I'm running the game on my macbook pro 2.9Ghz. I can play it fine although it does tend to struggle in some areas especially act 3. The only thing it really craps out with is the Piety boss fight; I can do the other boss fights easily. With the Piety fight the game tends to crash a bit. That said, I have managed to get through to merciless. The game still tends to lag especially if you are far away from the servers (I'm in New Zealand!), so this is not necessarily a mac-specific problem.

I play on a macbook pro. I use bootcamp though. Runs as smooth as a baby's ass.

I do have a good iMac though. It's 5 years old but I did upgrade the Ram. It should be running pretty smooth. Any tips to make it run better? I checked my memory and everything.
