I think the overall point of this thread is wtf imdb wtg with the weighting/scaling. Then again, is imdb being dubious in its ratings news to ANYONE? :) If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between. I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. The statistical average? Prob will get lower. The weighted? WTF is that weighting, I want to know and apply it when trying to barter, think it would work? Either way didn't know imdb gave a fuck about games. What do they vote on anyway, quality of ingame voiceovers? " That 4.5/10 rating is the "weighted average" of a set of values that have a strict arithmetic average a lot higher! imdb ignores 80% of 10/10 votes and the remaining votes have less value. This has been introduced to prevent self promotion(The common stuff companies do on amazon do) If you remove all 10/10 votes you get a avg score of 4.
