Aggro range is way too high

I agree with the op but not for the same reasons. The one thing that really slows this game down for me is examining loot on the ground and when mobs 5 screens away know you are doing so they run up to you and you are forced to kill them adding to the already huge loot pile. Sifting through loot becomes extremely tedious because of this. I don't mind the missiles from the aforementioned mobs but when I stand in one spot for 3 minutes and nothing attacks me I should feel pretty safe, right? but I don't because I know there is a mob on the other side of the map (at least it seems like it) watching me and its very annoying.

I think they should make the screen range even bigger.
I hope they can lower the angle as well. |

" I am guessing it has not "been done by now" because very few people have an issue with it. Are you being 1 shot when an off screen mob hits you? You shouldn't be unless you are playing as an extreme glass cannon, which would then of course be your own fault. I don't know of any strong mobs that can shoot from that far away. Maybe you dislike the viewpoint? Since you can see further in 1 direction than the other, but that wouldn't be an aggro issue. I am finding it very difficult to understand how the aggro range can be "WAY to high". You don't mention any particular mob or why it is an issue at all. You say it is cheap and tedious, but WHY do you think so? |

Surprised to see you think that way targuil, in high level maps i've noticed an extremely large amount of enemies targeting from offscreen.
No enemy in the game should ever be able to initiate an attack out of sight of somebody playing on a 1920x1080 resolution. Aggro range, sure, but not the ability to initiate an attack. |

" Eh, why not? They use ranged attacks after all which all can be dodged by moving your char out of the way (even arrows will be, come patch 9.12). If you'd fully remove the enemies ability to shoot outside of screen range you'd have to limit the range of player's ranged attack too to balance it out. Else ranged chars would get even better then they're now. And as melee, just use any kind of movement increase speed and outrun those ranged attacks. It's easily possible. |

" I've seen this behavior only from few mobs. I also agree they may be stronger in open maps as line of sight issue cannot be solved. Those mobs are as following: Spark mages ( sparks move slow though), rare rhoa chargers, vaal constructs. No other mob (except hailrake, merveil, oversoul) has shoot me offscreen with 1920x1080 at least before I had seen them before. I confirmed that I am still in HC league. Then I died.

" I'd recommend that you toggle of white items if you've that problem, then your able to look at all the other items first a lot easier. And to look at the white items you only need to hold ALT, I've started to do that and looting became a loot faster then (though I always look for 3-linked-sockets from the white to sell for chromatic). |

The spark mobs are the most annoying. I get into range to see them and there is a sea of sparks everywhere from mobs I can't even see yet.
Doesn't feel broken yet, but then I'm only in normal with most of my toons. |

Having monsters aggro off screen when you can't see them is dumb. We don't have the ability to see them from outside the field of view, so why should they? Letting them attack you from off screen is fine as long as they've already seen you, as that puts them on even footing with us players.
You can't go AFK or stop to loot in this game for longer than 15 seconds without some monster coming off screen and attacking you. Every time I go AFK, I have to either go back to town, or constantly look at my computer every few seconds to see that I'm not dying. Super annoying. What positive is there for monsters attacking you from off-screen anyway? |
