I dont see your point, when you play always with your friends, the Lootsystem are no disscusion.
But we talk the loot in open group, its complete diffrend as with friends.
I havent play a game in the last years, in them i go so many times out of a not bad group because of Ninjalooter.
Thies its not a funny experience. I hate stress, when i finish work, i want hack and slay dont grab loot fast as i can, want kill the mobs than loot.
Try your own build, rerolling again and again, more fun than Maps.

Rare and unique : Random (no restriction on classes or built, irrelevant in POE)
Next rare and unique item : Random, the player who won the last roll do not roll this time.
Rinse and Repeat : each time a player wins a roll he has to wait for all other party members to win one in order to be able to roll again.
The random queue described above would be distinct for rares and uniques.
Random popup got the 3 same old button : Need, pass, greed. Option allow to "always" choose one of them. (reduced clickfest)
I see it fair enough. Btw I have no idea if such thing could even be coded in Poe, tech wise.
Go away WoW player.
With Instanced Loot you always 100% of the time need to be near each other in order to not miss out on Loot. You have to be near each other when killing enemies, opening chests & breaking destructible objects. The entire party must wait if a player wants to fiddle with there inventory, level up there character, go to Town for some reason.
All of which are things that slow the game down and make it boring. With FFA loot you completely negate those problems. Yes, you can run ahead and open a chest or kill some monsters ahead of the other players and yes the "party" still gets loot. With Instanced Loot the player that ran ahead to open a chest, kill some monsters or not wait while the others twiddle there thumbs in menus/town will be the only one that gets loot.

Actually I'm a retired programmer, most likely from your parent's generation. Where we went wrong with your generation I'm still trying to figure out.
People like you need to learn to read between the lines.
Stop focusing on things you find offensive and focus on what the person actually means.
Sure, the guy flips out and cusses his ass off. But, read between the lines and you will see a passion for that game followed with some real truth.

You do know that public games disapear from public listings after they are full right?
I also see many games sitting there with one or two players that never fill up. I really doubt that there are a lot of "full" public games out there.
Why exactly are you arguing so much about something that wouldn't effect you?

Can't we just have a personal private loot, indipendent, leaving to the player his personal loot, his time to get it, just leaving his business to himself? Something like guildwars2 does.
Better than deal with ninjalooters.. Eventually, if loot cannot be taken (bag full) or the player is not interested, leaving the object on the floor for a couple minutes (for example) will turn the item as free for all, applying the rules explained on the OP.

the first sentence of your post sounds childish, the kind of child that think wow invented all, and that all it invented is wrong, and the rest of your post is irrelevant to my proposition. I hate instanced loot.
I just see it as a way to try to be fair among everyone involved.
The actual system will bring slackers, and guys just looking for the ninja window opportunity instead of actually properly playing the game.

There are some games that don't fill up for various reasons.
I won't join a game where a certain quest is Posted and yet 5 players are on different maps in the wrong area.
People can be picky...

You think that the loot timer means the said loot is YOURS. Which is infact INSANE.
I lol'd at that. so what you are saying is that I should play a game that depends mainly on loot but if i join a group with my high ping non of this loot is mine. I am just joining the group so that I can farm for my fellows low-pingers™ some loot. and no I can't say that it is my loot because i am an INSANE high pinger™.
....So basically you think the game should cater to your ping?
So, how about if you played nother game should they cater to your ping also? Say an FPS for example.
You crappy internet connection is not GGG problem. Get a better connection. Its the smart thing to do really.
oh hell voodoo is still here saying the same thing for the 10000 time (with different words)...seriously i thought you said you do not bother why this thread cause this thread is useless and has no meaning.....why are you here still?
we understand that with your way of thinking we must go play a better game anything else? are some kind of developer or do you have GGG stocks? if not stop showing us how CHILDISH and clueless are your "facts"...we have already read them 1000 times

Strangly this IMHO seems to be the bulk of the responses from the FFA crowd. I just dont get it. What are they like to be around all day in RL
