Elemental skill path class design - GRIPE

For an Ascendency I think its okay for it to include several Elemental skills or elemental minions

For a sandard skill path, I don't like a narrow path of elemental skills-
We are limited on the amount of skills to choose from,

For huntress for example, If we decide to route skills for Lightning-
We have to commit to lightning and follow that path.
This narrows our selection of skills to a fraction of them.
This ends up being bad for build diversity.
People are more likely to have similar builds, because its so restrictive.

some of the skills that proc with elemental skills, are kind of funky.
if I'm not using an elemental skill to get the additional cross-compatible elemental interaction/proc from it, it makes it less effective to use it as a stand alone skill without the element to proc the interaction.

Instead for example,
If warrior had a lightning or cold ASCENDENCY, that might be okay.
We can use thors hammer, we can have a frozen hammer, there can be skills within that ascendency and unique items that can give us those options.

But I don't like to see it as part of the standard skill tree.

Even for sorceress, I like the novelty of using purely a single element.
It's likely not nearly as effective as a hybrid build, with the elemental infusion benefits. That's okay, Sorceress is the least problematic in design compared to huntress.

I would prefer a class to have a variety of skills, with viable build paths able to use every skill.

I would even prefer for sorceress to be split into 3 different elemental skill paths, with more than a dozen skills for each element. Even if it meant sacrificing elemental infusion cross compatibility. Partially because I think it is more thematic, so i can play as Raiden from Mortal Combat, without sacrificing DPS, due to not also using a fire spell in conjunction with it.

there is no "following the path". if you decide for a lightning skill you have alot of different options.
the fact that you think there is a narrow path only underlines that you do not understand all the ways to scale damage. in fact the current best way to scale lightning attack skills is not going for pure lightning.

your ideas are the ones that would narrow paths
