You're conflating "I'm annoyed that this was not announced as a Gauntlet event" with "I am bad at this game and can't handle acts." That's absurd.
"
Uh oh, I might've missed the announcement then, can't seem to find a single word about it being specifically built on friction or difficulty. Can't find any mention of this being a Gauntlet event either. Announcement looks pretty similar to the previous Phrecia event, the one that was built on providing alternate ascendancies/atlas endgame experience.
It's like joining a race and being told that it's actually a surprise and you are running in a marathon.
"
I want not a skip, but alternatives, a choice. Like endless delve/endless heist/etc. events had. Like alternative campaign that was announced a lot of years ago, and yet still isn't a thing (and probably won't be anytime soon)

The 'announcement' is the game itself. GGG doesn't need to label an event as 'friction-heavy' when friction is the DNA of Path of Exile.

Comparing it to a 'surprise marathon' is a stretch—the Acts have been the gateway for over a decade. Asking for 'alternatives' like Endless Delve is just a polite way of saying you want the friction removed because it inconveniences you.

Choices exist: You can play the event as designed, or you can choose not to. Demanding the developers rebuild the tracks because you don't like the gravel isn't 'critique'—it's entitlement. If you need a label to know a challenge is challenging, the problem isn't the announcement, it's the expectation.
