Arastas Bug

Hi, me and my friend encountered a progression bug. After killing the plague bird we died to the smaller version that he summons. That must have somehow caused a bug as we got the reward and seemingly progress the quest.
Now however the quest doesnt progress in Arastas and the guy won't take us into the church.

We tried re-killing the boss and resetting instances in Arastas, anyone have this issue before and s able to help?
