GGG doesn’t “copy” POE1 things into POE2 — it’s simply a natural progression over time.
There’s a lot from POE1 that will eventually make its way into POE2, but all of that takes time to develop.

I feel people forget that POE2 is still in Early Access.

Do you remember how POE1 evolved over the years into what it is now?
How many years devs spent developing and polishing it?

So why expect an EA version of POE2 to be as good as POE1 after only one year?
It doesn’t make any sense.

I’m sure that once the full release arrives, POE2 will become the best ARPG for many years ahead.


I completely agree with you, I'm as sure as you that POE2 will be the best ARPG ever, and yes I am aware that it's only early access, but seems to me that they don't know what they want. Whenever you start a project you should know what is your target audience, eg who is going to play the game. But seems to me they try to make a game that suitable for both newbs / 30mins a day players and the sweatlords who play this game all day. Crafting was in a good spot last league, accessible for everybody, all they had to do was to nerf the essence like they did now and make some mods harder to get on items when reroll, but no, they got rid of omens. Years and years of development on poe1 and for some reason they are still doing mistakes like this.

And I'm really sorry, if poe2 is a natural progression of poe1, why is there a poe1 anymore? Or they'll get rid of it when all the mechanics from 1 will be implemented in 2?

Anyway I don't want to be a doomer or anything, just threw my 2cents as I'm a bit pissed off with the lack of responsibility when it comes to poe1, which feels more like a playtest area for poe2 nowadays more than anything.

They said juicing the temple is possible and it should bring the hardest content yet to be seen. That sounds like late game fun.

Builds being destroyed is understandable. If you play only one build for multiple leagues it brings nothing to the table for the dev team from EA perspecrive (they should completely destroy LA).

PS: i am kinda sick companies (not just games but movies and stuff) listen the most to crying minority instead of focusing on their vision...




Can't agree. If some builds are being played for longer time it means that people found FUN using them. GGG instead of thinking how to bring other builds to the same level of being FUN and popular (Lich + Last Lament is good example) are just nuking those builds instead. The only fun way to play crossbows. In 0.4 Mercenary and/or crossbows will have what? Less than 1% of usage on PoeNinja? This is BAD approach.

Another example. Melee is not so popular because people don't like how slow it feels and "kiss curse" being everywhere. Instead of removing things people don't like which makes specific classes less popular, GGG is going to bring "kiss curse" mechanic for everything. Instead of removing things people don't like they will bring more of it to make all clases equally miserable - great way to destroy the game.


Those fun builds as you call them usually have one thing in common. They destory screens and bosses in seconds wich is something the game should avoid imho.

Sure, they should FIX builds which are OP and one-shooting bosses, that's for sure.

But why people don't play crossbows? Because they think reload idea is BAD. Instead of fixing reload they are nerfing the only way to avoid annoing mechanic.
BTW - LastLament will still one-shoot bosses so it will fix nothing in this regard, only the lack of reload (the only fun thing) will be removed.

People don't like melee because is way too slow and you are being punished for taking nodes you farmed so hard, so instead of removing this they will bring more miserable for other nodes for all classes. So more of what people want to avoid.

This is not a good way to make game better if instead of improving things people don't like and are avoiding, you just give it to everything so everyone will be equally unhappy.

GGG: don't worry, soon everyone will feel equally bad. "Kiss curse" for everyone!
Will it make melee better, or just will make the game worse?

Gamers: we don't like reload mechanic as none other class have to deal with such B$, but we found ONE build to avoid this mechanic and it is FUN.
GGG: we hear you. Instead of improving crossbows we are going to nuke this build.
Will it make game and crossbows better, or will burry them 7 feet under?

funny thing is I play only crossbow builds on different classes and ascendancies. I play SSF only (HC on top of it half the time). I never found LL and all my things are mediocre at best and still have tons of fun and cleared all content there is (aye not doing 150 deli maps but its understandable on HC)

That's why you can't tell the difference. Try to play Deadeye on Rhoa, and then you will know what people are talking about, saying that playing melee or crossbows feels terrible in comparison with other builds/weapons/classes.
I can tell you that you will fill like you are palying a totally different game.
You have 4 days left - go and try yourself :)

Me? Maybe you should watch recent interviews with GGG where every single content creator is asking more or less the same questions and are rising the same concerns and complains. Going your route (don't like it so don't play it) GGG will loose player base because the amount of people complaining about those topics is huge, so that's why content creators are asking those questions and are rising those topics.

Tell me one ARPG where you don´t do that? Obliterating entire screens is basically the essence of this kind of games, when you remove that completely people will leave the game

I think they have already been quoted in saying they don't want to remove the ability to fully clear screens, but they want it to come in the form of item progression and power so you feel a sense of player progression. If I can fully clear screens as soon as I hit T1 maps the game is boring and I have nothing to work towards.
