Content Update 0.4.0 — Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids
" It really was too strong, I was able to get near perfect gear for my blood mage in a few weeks. The omen should be something along the lines of "20% chance of adding a modifier of the same type as an existing modifier". I am sad to see it go since it opened up crafting accessibility considerably but it really was way too powerful. |

" Sure it was too strong, but they did fully nerf it by disabling it completely. They could have nerfed it's droprate, or removed just the exaltation one so you can only use the regal version. But we are actually just straight back to where we were with RNG gamba |

Here lies the Last Lament.... Why it is called "last" you ask?
thats easy, it was the last time it was actually beeing used by a lich (or anyone), cause Creative build design and cool mechanics are not what is intended here. HERE we just get a pre designed combo gameplay arpg..... Who would show a build design and then nerf it weeks after? And most of all why nerf just that interaction that made <5% of Playerbase even play it. Was it because of 2 button gameplay? was it a broken interaction like surrounded or enemies are low life? tell me, I wanna know ! In my opionion 2 things stood out the last Content updates 1. if something is good and can clear the *current endgame*, its getting hit with a nerfhammer (not even the final version of the endgame) Examples - Heralds - old Galvanic shards + Shockburst - DT - now even Hollow Palm ? - LS - Minionmancers loosing the Ant -- And many more. Most of wich are not even fast or insanely strong. 2. Fun is not allowed, as we see right now, with the statement "buffs to all classes" beeing a headliner, I once even believed they meant. To see reducing creativity and uniqueness of niche strategies and destroying yet another Build defining Unique item, leads me to believe that whenever they say "new Unique Items" its just a another unloved creation, that they will not care for. And as we speak of "not care", I dont care what they promise anymore. Seen to many good game series die infront of my eyes, cause of Developers forcing an agenda. But after the 0.2 I had hope, it could not be worse, but damn was I wrong, it feels like the 0.2 all over again. I hope some changes might change my view on the upcoming league, but the agenda they are running is one I cannot support. With hopes BlackHolyAngel |

" ya getting a feel like majority if not most of this fps improvement will come due to reduced mobs density and see performance improvement as an important, if not main, reason for reducing mobs. in 0.3 when you were xp lvl farming hard - max packsize on atlas/delli/chaos omen on stone - fps was beyond tragic. IF you opened a breach, especially on area with non cleared abyss pits, you start seeing monsters blacked dead bodies staying on screen. Like if they were frozen right at the kill momen. And fps literally droping under 1 for the rest of the map. More often with fast clear chars. Last edited by Timmy2000#0228 on Dec 7, 2025, 9:24:09 PM

" A 'few weeks' to get ''near perfect'' gear for a single build in a seasonal game where the season lasts for 12-16 weeks, and you're saying it's "way too powerful"? Got it. Started playing in Ultimatum but got serious about the game in Archnemesis. PoE IGN: Ash_SoK PoE2 IGN: KMN_ Steam friend code: 413758162 Last edited by ash91_#3906 on Dec 7, 2025, 9:18:04 PM

conner: "lightning damage is a problem"
ggg: "we'll give it a tiny nerf" conner ---> starts testing indigon ignite build ggg: "hold up. whatchya got there? that won't do." *orbital nuclear strike* |

" Because its better to remove it (since it was honestly a horrible implementation anyway) and come up with better crafting options, than to leave it in in some downgraded version that will either A) never get used or B) still have to be used 100% of the time and be frustrating - and making them rarer is never the correct answer if they're broken anyway. |

I want 0.4 to be a success, but as of now, I am not seeing it. Hopefully shape-shifting and the new temples will be fun for more than a few days. Personally, I would have rather had a new end game map system with a focus on player agency rather than rng and a consolidation of the passive tree.

" First sentence is one of the funniest things I've ever read on any game forums. Thank you for the laugh! I did laugh out loud. Started playing in Ultimatum but got serious about the game in Archnemesis.

Guys... the vaal crafting is not an acceptable replacement for easy deterministic crafting, especially when most of your playerbase exists for one month then disappears.
Are you trying to artificially increase retention by making it harder to gear up and get BiS pieces? There's not a single world where I can imagine homogenizing exaltation and coronation are 'game breaking' beyond belief. Most of the time it did not end up in t1's. Are you playing alongside us when you launch a league without dev tools/client? Are you actively pushing a character like the rest of us? The nerfs to gems and such are expected. This? Definitely not. Especially when we're still playing slot machine. No betrayal crafting bench for basic affixes. No vendor recipes. No harvest crafting. No Prefix/Suffix locking (Unless you count highly expensive, giga rare omens). No scouring to start over if you end up with a bad combination from your slot machines. No alterations to at least get two decent starting mods. I could go on and on on this but I feel like I'd be wasting effort. Are you following too many streamers and not actually looking at the actual player feedback and using that as your baseline? I was really looking forward to 0.4. No wonder Chris resigned. |
