Content Update 0.4.0 — Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids

interesting changes
I figured you'd delete all the movement speed penalty reduction stuff, glad you didn't
hard for me to play the game without them
What is the point of limiting amount of runes/souls being equpped on gear?
When are we getting challenges
Removing the elite monster markers is a great change, but you've significantly shrunk the originally very large combat arenas in the Atlas and made the edges of these areas overly uniform, which isn’t good. Smaller arenas mean you barely start a fight before you have to pause and rush to the next one, leaving no time to appreciate the many beautifully designed scenes. The neat, uniform edges also remind players that their characters are moving on a simulated sandbox rather than truly adventuring. It urgently need the natural and irregular edges from the older version to enhance environmental authenticity.

Additionally, you mentioned needing changes to the Tower, but it still hasn’t fulfilled its potential. The heavy fog, which was crucial for creating a mysterious atmosphere, was unfortunately removed. Not only should the fog be brought back, but I also hope you can add weather effects like snowfall and heavy rain. Abnormal weather should coincide with more mysterious monsters appearing! Path of Exile 2 started with a solid design foundation, and there's no need to repeatedly fight the same bosses in every map. Why not introduce a hard mode that retains the original design while reducing resource availability and increasing difficulty? I'm really looking forward to what you initially promised: Path of Exile 2 will be a more action-focused game, clearly distinct from the first installment.
Rue and Cat are a pain in the ***
I don't see any improvements in the game, the endgame is still terrible, and for every step forward, there are two steps back. Another patch I don't even plan to play.

Anyone who sees the spiral into boredom should really take this league off.

I re-installed a few days ago to prep for league announcement. Uninstalled right after. If everyone that was REALLY unhappy about the changes just didn't show up, the numbers wouldn't lie.

The numbers will not lie trust me. It is the retention that matters. Just check the numbers 2 weeks after launch.

One dimensional thinking, classic.

If I play for 2 weeks and have the best time, then stop, is the game bad? No.

You leaning on player retention rates, just focus on yourself and your own experience. Stop being a dooming Redditor. It’s not all about if everyone players for 6 months straight or no. We’ve had Poe 1 and poe2 back-to-back for a while now, and I love the game, both games, but I’m a bit burnt out. Even with content that I love.
Always appreciate the hard work GGG staff put into every update/league. I am looking forward to Dec 12.

I was expecting different patch notes. This is risky.

Less and toughter mobs? It's a big change. Do you remember the Slog? Are you going to spend the next 6 months trying to fix the gameplay again? I hope you are doing the right move.
0.3 was good. Now, we dont know what we are going to play.

No more omogenizationg stuff. Back to the slot machine.
I hope you added something else bejond a %50 to double corrupt or lose an item. That, to me, seems quite sick! (ultra-end-game)

Anti-boss-desintegration system. I hate that, for various reasons. I am going to say just two: Sekehemas and Chaos Temple. As you already said in the 0.3 twitch reveal, you should have fixed the mobs in the trials before adding a dmg debuff to the players.
No problem. As always, we are going to brake the game an the bosses anyway.
:D

Good, we have a new class. From the stream, it looked slow and static. I understood: you wanted to demonstrate the interactions. Result: i dont know what to think. Huntress presentation seemed phenomenal, a blast. The druid was just Meh... Does it work? Better to try those weapon skills on other classes.

In the end, I have just one question. Was this reveal done badly, or is POE2 going away from what i loved about 0.3?

Abyss + crafting
Delirium + simulacrums
Breach + bossing
Ritual + bossing
General mapping/farming + decent juicing with tower overlap gone
Arbiter + increasing difficulties
Map specific bossing (the ones that provide fragments)
Expeditions + bossing

New league mechanic which is going to scale into endgame
New class

With these amount of options you really have nothing to enjoy? Let me just say this, if you aren’t enjoying any of it, you’re beyond help and this game isn’t for you. 0.4 too, only going to improve.
