Beware, POE1 subreddit is banning for negative opinions

can confirm, got perma banned which seems very harsh, apparently it harassing to question people who spread misinformation about stuff and when i questioned them about it all they could say is that it's "unkind" with a smiley face and said i could appeal it in 365 days like 🤣

First, my reply to sirgog was shadowbanned this morning (message appeared to me) but when I logged off it showed as deleted.

So I decided to make a post about the shadow ban with screenshots and well, got banned for 14 days for being too negative about the game, some of my comments were cherry picked, nothing offensive, some jokes and nothing that haven't been said many times before there or here.

In other words, if you wondering why there are no pitchforks on POE1 sub this time around, thats why, mods doing everything to steer the narrative, and keep criticism to minimum.

beware, Reddit doing things Reddit have always been doing since it's conception.

There's almost anything of importance ever to get discussed on Reddit. Mob mentality and Mods that control the narratives.

Current narrative is glazing Poe1 and async trade and posting Mirror drops from trees.

Any relevant content is on /r/pathofexilebuilds after the first 3 days of a league because there's nothing left to discover in the league itself.

Asynch trade is incredible but it's absolutely going to shorten everyone's seasons by half or more now that it's here. The sheer volume of "work" you can get done instantly now is insane. It remains to be seen whether it will make every drop feel like a miscellaneous blob of currency for people. Everything still feels good to me.

Uhh, this isnt PoE specific. Or negative only.

On some forums if you post positive things, you get banned. Others, negative.

Reddit is the worst hivemind / groupthink / ban anyone who thinks differently than you on the internet.

At the same time, you could defend it by talking about how this is normal human behavior, just put into strict rules by reddit mods + voting system. But.. nah reddit is just awful. Always has been.
I dont think its just reddit. To me seems both poe1 and 2 started to target more of a casual crowd who (at least in my opinion) spends money on the game.
Old date / hardcore fans are put on back burner. In all honesty, personally once I got all the stash tabs I would hardly spend any money on poe unless league is exceptional and I actually want to acknowledge their work.
We are soo overdue on endgame shake up its not funny, it seems things are stale since 3.17. T17 and T16'5 didnt really hit as much as previous iterations. TOTA being real game charger but we havent seen it for 2 years now...

Trial of the Ancestors was really fun. Still miss it. Everytime someone mentions it, a brief wave of nostalgia flows over me, then is briefly surpassed with a moment of grief. I have no idea why they never brought it back, but instead made Settlers core...

Yep, it was a magical league.

They did this to me, too, when they perma-banned me well over a year ago.

They cherry picked a random comment from >6 months prior that I already got a temp 1 day ban for (well deserved, I admit). Then they added some recent discourse that got a little "heated" but wasn't offensive and hit me with a perma-ban. Power-tripping mods even sent me smileys and basically laughed in my face when they banned me. They can shove it. Now I mostly only check hot topics.

I think something around Kalandra has changed there, and they went on hard on suppressing criticism about game. Even now, the sub looks as nothing was wrong with the league when we are at Necropolis' level of player retention. That paints clear picture. The league is shit.

I wondered why I was downvoted when I said that item crafting on the tree was a mistake, now I understand, most who would agree were either banned or don't care about the sub anymore.
Reddit is a terrible censorious platform. It gets way, WAY worse if you go into any of the political subs. Misinformation, deception and fake grass roots should be synonymous with that place.

I do think that some people are overly negative both on this forum and reddit about the league. For SSF and I guess ruthless the league mechanic feels awesome. Its fun in HC as well, maybe because the player amount is much lower. I love async trade overall and I think the game is in a better state because of it. I do think the endgame has too much mechanics going on currently with too much content from past leagues being woven into it. Also the huge clearspeed meta with some skills clearing substantially fast off screen feels rather bad.
