Town Portals Need to not disappear

Signed!

I also suggest making timers longer, or removing them.

This has happened 3 times. Twice I had to repeat the same 2 zones, and it was just boring.

This last time (5 minutes ago) I just logged out to do something else.

To be honest, if an in-game feature makes me feel like leaving and doing something else, then it is not a good one.
Yeah there is a bug with portals going away sometime when in town. It's happened to me a few times, hence my post. Really I don't see the point in having a timer on the portal at all. It should just stay around until you use it up by returning to your location.
In my oppinion, it is NOT FUN When you've cleared several levels of a dungeon and go to town to sell items and take a bathroom break; then you come back to find your portal gone and have to start all over again after a boring run there!

Many people have complained about this. There are solutions, so it should be fixed.

It's as simple as that.

Increasing portal duration does not affect game balance, so it should be raised to make the game more player friendly and enjoyable.

(The same could be said about zone reset rates, except the opposite. They need to be reduced to 30 to 45 minute respawn rate. Add an option to reset zones for those that want them to spawn sooner).

Anything and everything that does not affect game balance, but makes the game better should be done if possible...don't you think?
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul...
It's very frustrating when you have a ton of great boss loot and you go into town to sell/store items and by the time you close your stash your portal and all the loot is already gone. This has happened to me a few times and I'm not even taking very much time in town. I try to go fast, but sometimes you have to think about what you want to sell, what you want to keep. And when choosing a quest reward you don't want to make that decision hastily. I think a portal should postpone the instance resetting by at least 30 minutes. The whole point of a portal is that you want to go back. If you leave an area with no portal, by all means reset it after 8/15 minutes, even 2 minutes I don't really care. But a portal should save the instance for longer. Otherwise portals loose a lot of their value. If I can't even go into town long enough to sell/store items without losing the other stuff it's pointless.
At the moment, the portal and instance reset rates are set they way they are to reduce server load for GGG. They do not have the amount of income right now to be able to have the servers they will have on release, so they are keeping it lower to keep the servers under less stress until then.
I'm not opposed to disappearing portals, but this is the first I've heard of them intentionally having a duration! If they are going to have a fixed duration, it *needs* to be shown on the item. I just lost ~1.5 hours of progress because I hadn't yet found any waypoints in a direction and spent a while in town comparing new items. This game is about items. If you are not meant to spend time comparing items, then what's the point?

Edit: Missed the above post about reducing instance load. This is a perfect valid reason, but the item still needs to be changed to reflect the duration to prevent new player frustration.

Portal go away in 8-15 minutes because of the timer on the instance...I find this acceptable personally.
If you think I care what you think, you need more of a life than I do.
I too think that they sometimes don't last the 8 minutes they're supposed to. Maybe the Warden's Chambers (the rooms before Brutus) is an even smaller area, or maybe there's some other issue, or maybe I just don't keep track of time very well. (LOL)

Either way, I think it's important to have portals in areas like this stay active for longer, as we'd have to trek sometimes through 3 different reset instances to catch back up to where we were. Someone else suggested implementing a warning that one could click to extend the time of the portal/instance, or at least to let us know that it was about to close so that we could get our asses over there in time.

And again, usually 8 minutes is enough, but before a boss fight it can take a little more than that to consider all your gear, especially when you have a new player who might not have planned ahead for the short portal durations.

Why did instances reset after 8-15 minutes again?

Wouldn't it be better to never reset them automatically, but let the player do so manually whenever he wants to?

If so then town portals could just be open for as much time as possible
The instances are all on their servers, so they can't just go on forever.

But I had another run-in with a portal closing in what I'm pretty positive was less than 8 minutes, this time in the Church Dungeon.
