Feedback and Suggestion for Skill Management in Path of Exile 2 (Console)

Managing skills can be tedious for new players.
Currently, linking a skill involves 8 steps:

1. Open inventory
2. Click on the uncut gem
3. Choose the skill to transform
4. Gem drops into inventory
5. Click the gem to select it
6. Open the vertical skill menu
7. Click the slotted gem
8. Link the skill to a button

While experienced players may not find this problematic, my newcomers frieds found it exhausting, which reduced their enthusiasm for experimenting with skills.

Suggestion:

1. Open inventory and click the uncut gem (opens the skill selection panel alongside the vertical skill menu)

2. Choose the skill to transform the gem (it is automatically slotted in the next available space in the vertical skill list)

3. In the vertical skill list, press and hold the desired button to link the skill

4. The skill is now positioned on the skill bar automatically according to the hold buttom

For uncut support gems, a similar approach could apply:

1. Click an empty support slot on the vertical skill list (opens a list of compatible supports for that skill)

2. Choose the desired support from the list (it automatically slots into the skill, consuming the uncut support gem from the inventory)

This reduces the number of steps and removes the need to drag icons, which can be cumbersome on console.
