Orb of Alternation functions as Orb of Augmentation
|
Hi I have encountered a new bug in 3.27.
Currently my orbs of alteration function as orbs of augmentation. It adds a mod to a magic item (without changing the other mod), and if the magic item has 2 mods (prefix, suffix), then my orbs of alteration displays "Item has no space for more Mods." This is the exact same line if you were to use an orb of augmentation on a magic item with 1x prefix and 1x suffix. My orb of alteration appears the same as a normal alt. I can buy gems from Lily Roth that require orb of alteration just fine. I have tried to alt flasks, maps, contracts. All have the same effect (alts functioning as augs). Please help. Not being able to alt anything makes poe a big hassle. Last bumped on Nov 5, 2025, 8:20:46 AM

If you hold alt you can augment items that only have 1 mod. If you are also holding alt to view advanced item descriptions you will be trying to augment items instead of alteration them.

Problem solved. Thank you for your answer!
So am I correct to understand that unless I rebind "advanced item description" (if that's even possible), then I cannot use alteration while viewing advanced details about the mods? Thanks. |

" You can rebind show advanced item descriptions and it should function how you want, yes. Last edited by Timothy_GGG#0000 on Nov 1, 2025, 5:47:37 PM

I’d really love to see another option added.
I don’t want to rebind Alt, since it's so engrained in my crafting experience. Could you please add a setting to disable the “hold Alt to Augment” behavior instead? That would solve the conflict without needing to change keybinds. Kind regards, BRJM Last edited by BRJM#0838 on Nov 13, 2025, 1:07:29 PM
