To play SSF, of course. While the game is primarily balanced around trading, some players find joy in abandoning it entirely and prefer to grind and farm for their own upgrades instead of turning the game into a min-max currency farm simulator, where you only engage with whatever nets the most currency per hour rather than experiencing all the game’s content and making use of whatever benefits you most at each stage of progression.
Both approaches are valid, it all comes down to personal preference.

Because the game is designed around progression and being able to buy your upgrades directly off trade nullifies a large part of the game. There really isn't any point in playing if you can just get carried or buy upgrades without having to work for them. Ssf is just a more rewarding and fun experience overall.

Went back to trade for the first time since abyss league, just found out we have to pay real money to use faustus, has kinda killed the whole vibe for me honestly.

ITs interesting that something so fundamentally tied to poe's gameplay as trade is behind a paywall. I did the upgrade tabs option without fully researching it, and now have deleted tabs from SSF, I guess I was stupid to assume that they wouldnt be removed in SSF because they have no use there, but my evening is now kinda ruined, and dont know what to do.
