Level 96 Hardcore "commited suicide"
|
Hey,
This just happened to me and I want to report it exactly as it occurred. I was playing my Hardcore character KabajiWitchiiiii (level 96) with a Headhunter belt equipped. I was fighting a Rogue Exile named Vasa, of the Death Akhara. After killing her and picking up the loot, I was standing there looking at the drops and casting spells. Suddenly my character instantly dropped dead and the message showed “KabajiWitchiiiii has committed suicide.” It looks like Headhunter took a modifier from that Rogue Exile and that modifier caused damage to me every time I cast. I don’t know if Rogue Exiles normally have unique modifiers, but in this case it seems she did, and the transferred modifier instantly killed me even though Omen of Resurgence triggered. Details: Character: KabajiWitchiiiii Account: kabajisan League: HC Abyssal League Time: ~01:00 AM (GMT+3) Item equipped: Headhunter Enemy: Rogue Exile “Vasa, of the Death Akhara” Death message: “KabajiWitchiiiii has committed suicide.” I’m posting this so devs and players know this interaction happened and can look into whether Headhunter can steal harmful self-damage modifiers from Rogue Exiles. — Kabaji ![]() Last bumped on Feb 12, 2026, 5:45:10 AM

Man, you win the coolest death prize in 0.3.x.
Other than that head hunter has been quite the trap. I wonder how you managed with the shroud/shade walker. |

are rogue exiles considered uniques or rares?
thought they were uniques |
|
|
They should count as Uniques and not Rares, that is why I was so confused in the beginning.

Based on this thread (and my HC death an hour ago), I reckon it's not related to the Headhunter.

Thanks for your report, I'll pass this on.

RIP
Headhunter is too risky |

Well, it sounds like you, and everyone who dies to Shroudwalker should THINK TWICE before using Headhunter, eh? TEEHEEHEE! THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR TRYING TO HAVE FUN!
I'm kidding, of course. It's utterly ridiculous that Headhunter is giving players monster mods that effectively count as de-buffs. Getting teleported a screen away is disorienting, even when not deadly. |
