Olroth's Resolve bugged when used with CI

https://youtu.be/j6MND5Ztenw

Olroth's Resolve unique life flask doesn't seem to work properly with Chaos Inoculation allocated.

When used with CI, it gives 2 points of Guard.
When used without CI, it gives 1435 points of Guard.

In both cases flask is used while full HP, and missing ES doesn't seem to affect the guard value. Seems like Guard is somehow limited to double the value of your maximum HP.

Agreed, accordingly to the wording it should work, if it's not it is a bug or the wording should be changed, or make it very explicit somewhere that guard has a limit of 2x hp.
0.3.1 hotfix 2 - still not fixed

there is no excess of life with chaos inoculation, there's no life to recover at all for the flask to work, the bug probably is that 2 guards added on use lol

What do you mean there's no excess?

Literal definition of word excess says it's the amount over the maximum. In CI's case maximum is 1, therefore it should grant Guard for full amount - 1.

If it's not intended then they have bug as you said, and they need to fix the wording.
There is no excess because your hp is set to 1 so there's nothing to exceed, not even 1 point.
It is like this since release, at that time the flask was intended to not work when on full life because in fact you were not using it to heal.

To trigger it you wanted to use lifetap on a skill to lower your life by a very small amount and use the flask to recover that and the excess of that heal was added as guard.

If you had 1000 hp and lifetap cost you 1 life then the flask recover that 1 hp and add 919 as guard.
With CI you're not healing at all so the flask is not used thats why i said the bug is probably the added 2 guards and not the fact that is not adding that much guard.

If you look at the video I posted, there's a case where I use the flask without CI even when I'm full HP to replenish the rest of my ES and I still get full amount of Guard.

To be fair I didn't try it without the Shav's belt and that might be an edge case, but even that is worth reporting.

I get your reasoning, but something is still very wrong here.
