Can't heal, it's not reservation

Can't heal at all, I know it's not reservation.

When I take damage the only way to heal is to die. I've tried the well, flasks, removing items, logging off, character selection, etc. Death is the only way.

I know how reservation works and this isn't it. I think there is a unique which stops regen from anything but natural regen, but I'm not using that.

Are you by any chance a Lich with the Eternal Life ascendancy passive?

Alternatively, if you had something that prevents Life Regeneration you could probably still use an instant seething life flask to regain life.


If you happen to be a Lich with the Eternal Life passive:

This would prevent healing your life pool (or taking damage to it) unless you have zero energy shield. This also prevents you from healing at the well in town or hideout.

An item which grants you the keystone Eldritch Battery, such as the Visage of Ayah unique helmet could be used to temporarily disable your ES and allow you to heal, which can be safer than deliberately taking damage until you run out of ES. It may leave you a bit short if you have life or strength on your regular helm, but works.

You would also not fill any new maximum life gained from levelling, so trying to remain on full life can be problematic.
