Freezing Mark, Cast on Elemental Ailment and Original Sin + Tul's Stillness or Chaotic Freeze
Sorry for the unclear title, this situation is quite complex to describe in only 100 characters. I am playing an Acolyte of Chayula, and I use Original Sin and lots of chaos damage as my main DPS method.
Looking at ways to proc elemental ailments for Inner Turmoil to give me some volatility, my attention went to Chaotic Freeze (on Contagion) and Tul's Stillness. Both work fine with Original Sin to freeze enemies. However, when you use Freezing Mark, despite it very clearly freezing enemies, Cast on Elemental Ailment will not get any energy. With Tul's Stillness, this is very consistent, and with Chaotic Freeze, it's a bit random. I think it depends on the bearer of the Freezing Mark to be affected by Chaotic Freeze as well. It works fine when used without Original Sin though. Steps to reproduce : - Go to Clearfell with Cast on Elemental Ailment (and a random spell in there), Original Sin, Contagion, Chaotic Freeze, Freezing Mark and Tul's Stillness - Equip Original Sin - Mark with Tul's Stillness an enemy in a pack, kill it : enemies around will freeze and shatter, but no energy generated - Mark without Tul's Stillness and cast Contagion + Chaotic Freeze on another enemy : that enemy will freeze and shatter, but generate no energy - Unequip Original Sin and repeat : Freezing Mark generates energy as it should Last edited by ultrakatiz#4803 on Sep 29, 2025, 2:36:10 PM Last bumped on Sep 29, 2025, 7:30:05 PM

Bump
This also happens with Voltaic Mark and Esh's Radiance. Maybe it's caused by the "uses its own attack damage" thing these marks have (even though it's still affected by my stats) ? It also happens with Voltaic Mark + Tul's Stillness, Freezing Mark + Esh's Radiance, etc... You get the point. I should also note that elemental spells work as intended for this behaviour, only the mark skills seem to be affected. Last edited by ultrakatiz#4803 on Sep 29, 2025, 7:44:48 PM
