Starting map with player inside the old one eats the waystone

Have lost several waystones tonight to trying to start a map just as one of my party enters the old one. It also counts as a failed attempt on that map node so deletes your hard earned overrun by the abyssal you've been pathing to all night. Unsure if known issue?
