Stuck in map and cant leave

I started a new character to try out the Abyssal League. Everything was going great, and I was progressing the story well until I got to the Red Vale boss. I completed the boss, but ended up dying at the same time as I killed it because of its after-death attack. All good, I just respawned and went back to the map, but realized that the item the boss drops to progress the main story was no longer on the ground. No matter how many times I went into character select, opened a different character, logged out and back into POE2, changed to a different server, it would not respawn the boss or give me the missing item. I had no choice but to start all over again, which was fine considering I was only 1 hour into the character. I made a new character and again got all the way to the Red Vale boss and this time I defeated the boss without dying but now I couldn't leave the area. I couldn't even attack. Left click was essentially disabled, even though it showed it was still bound in my settings. I could open my own portal but couldn't click it. I couldn't press waypoints or any checkpoints. I was just stuck. I tried logging out, resetting my computer, playing on a different character for 3 days and it still didn't work when I came back. I decided to redownload POE2 on my PS5 to see if opening the instance on a new device would change things and sure enough, it allowed me to use portals on the PS5 version. Everything was working normally and I had no problems progressing the game on my PS5.I went back to my computer because I enjoy POE better on m&k and the bug started again. I had progressed all the way to Grim Tangle area on PS5 and spawned back there on my laptop and it was doing the same thing it was doing at the Red Vale. So essentially, I can not progress my character on the PC version of the game at all. Please help, I would really like to play the new season!!

Same thing happened to me and my party! But we found a solution. I dont know if this work in ps5 but on pc it does.

If you go to you character selection on the corner of your charactors name you will see a blue flag and beside it have i home icon. if you select it you will have a option to start in your hideout or town.
