Rakiata's Flow Doesn't Work as Expected - chase item broken

Edit: Xesht has a grey fire resistance icon. This means he has less then 50% fire resistance like this post assumes. It is possibly he has only 20% fire res at Tier 2 (which feels low?). Tier 3 still has grey icon so under 50% resistance.

---------------------------------------------

Using Rakiata's vs Not Using only increased my damage by 19% against Tier 2 Xesht.

During the test I dealt only fire damage (avatar of fire keystone), and had 59% fire penetration.

Either t2 Xesht does not have 50% fire resistance like many of us believe, or Rakiata's Flow doesn't work as intended. Please look into this, it is a highly sought after support gem that doesn't work as advertised!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did a test, where I recorded damage numbers with and without Rakiata's against Tier 2 Xesht. The only change made during the encounter to the skill used was equipping/unequipping the gem, nothing else was replaced/removed.

I watched the recorded video at 1/8 speed and recorded over 100 instances of damage in a spreadsheet. At least 55 hits without Rakiata's and over 80 with. I have access to more data (more hits in the video) but didn't feel like spending more time.

Average damage with rakiata's was 14346.72 and average hit without it was 12043.84.

If a player has 59% fire resistance penetration, rakiata's flow should increase their fire damage by a MINIMUM of 50% vs a 50% resistance monster like T2 Xesht. It doesn't.

If this is intended, then the wording of the skill is misleading players.

20% fire resistance vs -20% fire resistance is 1.5 times damage difference. Your tests shows 1.19 times damage difference which corresponds to 9% vs -9% resistance. You can estimate T2 Xesht resistances by inflicting exposures or curses (both have 50% less effect on unqiues) and looking at the icons.
I think if u have "Penetration" stat with Rakiata, it gives target to +resistance. "Reverse" means this.

If boss has 50% fire resistance, Rakiata changes boss resistance to -50 but...

If you have 50% fire penetration and target has 0 fire resistance, Rakiata gives 50% fire resistance to target. At last target has 50% fire resistance.

Try without penetrate stat. Rakiata will work what u want at that time

So penetration suddenly doesn't apply last?

It was supposed to ignore X of the resistances, not lower them.
