Major Endgame Changes in Patch 0.3.1 for Path of Exile 2
" Its not like we were promised on the first exilecon that poe 2 will be extension of poe 1 with shared endgame or anything. Its only years after they decided to make it a separate game but almost everyone in the community wanted poe 1 with new systems and better graphics and thats it, by the end when 1.0 rolls out we will have poe 2 as a successor of poe 1 with better systems and everything else, thats just the truth. Awesome new change! Just some feedback about the new mechanics around precursors and waystones, especially from a UI/UX perspective as both a designer and a console player.
The system is a really creative addition and I appreciate the effort that went into designing it. That said, I think it could become a little cumbersome at higher levels of play. Buffing each new waystone with precursors makes sense mechanically, but in practice it starts to feel like extra overhead, especially for players who just want to jump into maps quickly. Suggestions: 1.Once the tables have been inserted, display a simple number or counter showing remaining usages. This way, players don’t have to constantly highlight precursor details. It’s easier to see visually before opening the traverse and keeps tracking simple after map completion. 2.Show recently used precursor layouts in the waystone insertion UI (left-hand side or underneath). This would make reusing setups much faster and reduce repetitive overhead. It would also solve the issue of finishing a map and then having to reinsert tablets again. Based on what was shown in the video, it looks like the system reevaluates the waystone being placed, which could mean having to deal with precursors returning to stash or character inventory. Embedding recent layouts directly into the Atlas map would streamline this before and after each map completion. I also added an image as a quick sketch to illustrate what I’m referring to with this UI adjustment. Awesome changes but please reset atlas for everybody. Don’t let old setups stay. This is just calling for even faster death of season. If old setups and overlaps stay in game nothing is stopping people from adding tablets to their already juiced maps which would be equal to 5-6 tower overlap. GGG don’t let this happen please. Economy is already broken right now.

I already dropped this league thanks to GGG being GGG, but now I am actually considering coming back. Interesting fact, I am one of the hundreds (thousands?) reports posted on the forums regarding having NO citadels at all on the atlas after doing 150+ maps. The dev who replied in the thread I was part of stated that they checked everyone's Atlas, and there were Citadels not too far. Now it appears they were lying and simply put gaslighting us? I knew they were, because, well, I still have not found a single Citadel. But now it's official, I guess. My question, how will Citadel spawn rate increase affect already generated atlases? My Atlas clearly has no Citadels. Will they be added retroactively? How many more maps do I have to run until I reach the edge of the currently generated atlas to force new parts to be generated? |

Have to say after playing for many years I am having more fun playing this league then every other one including POE1.
While I have 700+ hours in poe 2 70+ of it is just the last few weeks. I consider myself a casual player but can't put down. Thanks for keeping up the pace and I will continue to buy a supporter every league even if I dont play much every time. Keep up the great work. ShavedDome |

I have mixed feelings about these changes, on one hand I really like that towers are gone, on the other hand I am really not a fan of "having" to run all maps with 0 respawns to get full tablet buffs on them.
Before I was able to only do towers with 0 respawns, get 3 tablets placed, and then do all other maps with 1/2. Even if my build can handle it, I find it really stressfull just knowing that one small mistake, or one stupidly stron rare to take me out, and having my map wasted. And I don't want to have to super focus on every single map I run because I play this game to relax. |
