After this Hotfix got applied, the game won't load after logging in and picking my character. I'm in Kingsmarch and I can hear the music and other people moving around and doing stuff "behind" the loading screen, but I'll never actually get in-game. The gears just keep spinning :(

Also just generally speaking, performance in .3 has been much worse for me. I've lost about 15 to 20 fps and the game is choppy, although not consistently, which makes it hard to pin down what the issue is.

Please, do something with Nvidia / optimization of the game.

Continuously crashing with the latest driver after 10-20 minutes of play
(standalone client, Steam client doesn't matter).

High-end PC with RTX 3070 card... other games do not have performance issues, so this must be something with POE2.
Please! I want to enjoy the game!

I can't say a 3070 with no processor specs listed can be legitimately considered a "high end pc", maybe two years ago it was reasonably "high end".

Not arguing that you're wrong about what you're saying though, optimization is in a rough state right now. I have a fairly high end PC for 2025 (9950x3d/32GB DDR5/RTX 5070ti) and I am also dragging frames through the mud in various scenarios with a lot of mobs and effects...

Webmaster note: Why does the "quote" button for each post just start a blank reply without quoting the person you clicked to quote? On that note, can we consider upgrading our forum software to something that isn't literally 15+ year old? This forum software is ass.

This is beyond ridiculous. I'm still experiencing constant game crashes and freezes. Game stability overall is extremely poor at best. Dying repeatedly almost every time the game freezes or crashes is not a good customer experience.

i have also the problem that bookmarked unique maps (castaway, fractured lake) turned into random other maps.

which is not the way you should test your hotfixes..
The elites that come out of the abyss are still too strong or you lower the amount like why are there 3 elites coming out of 1 hole with a aura and literally rushing you down.

I also have a 3070 and I am sorry but it aint a "high-end" PC anymore. NVIDIA are on their 50 series and your GPU is already like 4-5 years old.

I do run through nvidia as well with everything lowest and reach like 60 fps with minions, its way better than 2 leagues ago but yeah, their optimizations are very slow and they have to start doing it without the FSR or DLSS bs.
SOLVED my shaders problem, long load times/2 second freezes. Added shader cache folder to windows defender exceptions. No, adding the whole drive didnt help, i had to specifically add the shaders folder. Also moved the folder to the PoE2 folder on my E drive manually(edited the ini file). FPS still tanks, but at least the game is somewhat working now. Its also silly that i had to do all of that.

I had that issue a couple weeks ago. I also experience slow load times (1-2 minutes) on occasion. I use Vulkan, and what helped me initially was deleting my shader cache. This can be found by opening Windows File Explorer, then typing in %appdata% in the top bar that shows your folder path. Then going to Path of Exile 2 folder, then ShaderCacheVulkan. I delete all the files in there, and also in the Minimap folder. The game typically loads a lot faster after that, but you will notice some stuttering as you join new areas as the shader cache will be rebuilding itself.

I don't know why this works, but it seemed to for me, anyway.

imbe4mXL#6156 in a comment above yours in this thread mentioned they added those folders to Windows Defender exclusion list. I'm did that and will see if that helps. Might be worth a shot in your case, as well.

Hope you can get loaded back into the game!
The game runs as badly as before, but they ruined my atlas by moving some unique maps, thanks ggg! The game is not even 1 year old and already full of spaghetti code. Wonder if this happened to the people running AMD, that has fewer performance issues and just got their unique maps removed for nothing
