Omen of Dextral Crystallisation + Essence of the Abyss

If you use an Omen of Dextral Crystallisation with an Essence of the Abyss
(Item currently has 3 preffixes and 1 suffix) you won't be able to. BUT if you hold shift it lets you do it. This makes no sense. You should be able to do it. Essence of the Abyss is a corrupted essence, so you should be able to use the omens, even if you are guaranteeing a suffix mod.
This happened while i was crafting my Ancestral Tiara, in case you wanna reproduce it.

I'm having the same issue, which is crazy because yesterday I was just using this combination of crafting. So frustrating.

What do you mean if you hold shift...? I am holding shift and it still doesn't work.
