[0.3c] Endgame exploration problem (not another tower topic)

Recently i found myself exploring the endgame atlas for citadels or unique maps... but the experience were awful (at best). I realized that when you leave a tower area, there is no reward for completing T15 maps when you can rush T1 map rushing for new content.

I think this is one of the main problems of the endgame right now.

When i found 2-3 tower overlap, it's ok to juice your maps and farm content. Once you run out of that overlap, you need to find another place to farm... but the way or exploration to do so feels boring/unrewarding: why i'm trying to do t15 maps when there is no extra content in those? You can't even explore the atlas in area lvl 80+ because you don't have Irradiated maps outside towers (just boss maps if you have the atlas passive)

I don't know how to solve it but that's my main problem with tower/tablet system right now.

I respect GGG tried to bring back the old sextant mechanic from early PoE 1 atlas days, but the way they went about it makes it feel very clunky and unrewarding, especially once you clean out the nodes in the overlapping radius.

I'd suggest removing the towers and add a special precursor device that you can fill with tablets. You can then deploy the device on a map node of your choice, but it requires you to have completed it first. Add limits such as not allowing more than 2 or 3 device areas to overlap each other.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Yup, removing the tower system would help, and some type of system that encourages you to leave your current area to explore the fog of war. I think seeing "things" in fog of war helps you explore, i'm driven to go into citadels, for example.

Also the towers could grant fog of war vision and the possibilty to teleport to map in radius (just like the grand project tablet), so they would be more utility than necessity.
I dont have problems with towers. But i never played poe1 so i cant compare.

I just think that sometimes it's too much randomly generated and you can be with no tower to be seen for a while than suddently you have 4 next to each other.

Maybe less randomness would be better.

I already tought of that too, if all tower had that grand project tablet effect by default, it might appease some complains and would be more enjoyable. So you are not forced to do all the maps with content you dont really want or care for.
