Etched ravine checkpoint bug

Died shortly after entering the Etched Ravine. On death I reappeared at a checkpoint near Stormgore.
I had not discovered this checkpoint yet.

Same problem at the Howling Caverns. Died halfway, appearted right next to the Yeti checkpoint, without having activated the checkpoint yet.
