Controller + Linux = Sooo many reboots

My system freezes entirely on zone. Sometimes I successfully zone in and can move for four seconds before it freezes.

I'm in Act 3, tho. That has meant hundreds of times: Power Cycle, unencrypt drives, log in a the user, start steam, start the game, choose the character and hope not to freeze on zone. (It freezes me in the town anyway, requiring a second power cycle.)

I like the game. I've racked up 440 hours of play (filthy casual!) I'd like to play it without the freezes and CTD. Since the patch on 11th, the app crashes to desktop more often than freezing. This is great because I only need to restart the game, not the PC.

I know my player population is red-headed step children. I run linux and use a controller. Linux and the controller are just fine, btw. When I get too frustrated with four or five reboots per hour, I play Baldur's Gate or one of the hundred or so games I have on steam.

I'm one of the new fans of ARPGs. I like PoE2 but I'll settle for Diablo 2 if the game continues to require frequent power cycling.

Considering they have yet to produce an initial macOS build of the game, it seems unlikely they would have the manpower to investigate issues that are apparently unique to an Operating System they aren't claiming to support.

If you are hoping they will do so, it might help if you make more of an effort to narrow things down for them. Link them to the game's log file on Pastebin; try playing with KB&M for a bit to determine whether the controller is required for reproduction, and perhaps provide system info on Pastebin, too.

You've not specified which Linux distro you're using; what controller you're using - literally anything about your system whatsoever. It's frankly difficult to believe you even want them to investigate your bug report given the dearth of useful information you have elected to provide.

Reading your post again, you've not even said how you're playing the game.

That is consistent with my expectations. Unless it affects Windows users, I don't expect it will get attention. Was a super fun game. I'll miss it.

I installed windows to run the game.
