In the Lush Isle logbook two instances of this weird text box appeared that said Beast Skin instead of the monster or area opening after the explosives triggered.

same here. nothing. just shows an egg with corruption around it but it did nothing.

Just had the same myself on Lush Island lvl 72. Couldn't do anything with them. 2 instances of it as well.

I think it is supposed to be this way, just apply Coalesce Corruption to monsters but the tag remains after explosion, just flying there
|
