Blood priest boss, a neverending battle

I had the unfortunate experience of deealing with this boss, and still haven't completed it. Is this some kind of sick joke of a DPS check to allow players into maps?

How is when you down 1 of the 2, then he can keep healing indefinetely from the other one which is no longer part of the fight. No matter how many "combos" and how much "meaningful combat" i pulled off, I cannot out DPS the leech. This is by far the worst design of any boss, and this is not even considering the fact that you have to spam dodge so many times, and you get so little time to actually DPS and deal damage.

This is such a sick joke - terrible design for a boss, especially considering one can get stuck trying to out damage the leech and not be able to succeed.
