Lich Eternal Life blocks Life→ES Leech conversion (Essentia Sanguis + The Last Lament)

I'm trying to combine two uniques to convert life leech into energy shield leech, but it doesn't seem to work in practice.

Setup
- Uniques:

- Amulet: Ligurium Talisman — https://poe2db.tw/us/Ligurium_Talisman
Line: `Life Regeneration is applied to Energy Shield instead`
- Ascendancy node: Lich — Eternal Life

Goal / Expected
- Use The Last Lament to create life leech from physical hits.
- Use Essentia Sanguis to convert that life leech into energy shield leech.
- The jewel’s `x% of Leech is Instant` should make some portion of that leech instant (for the appropriate leech type).

Actual
- I cannot get damage from my attacks to leech energy shield at all.
- None of the leech appears to be instant.
- The amulet’s `Life Regeneration is applied to Energy Shield instead` works as expected (regeneration correctly applies to ES), but the leech interaction does not.

Question
- Is this a quirk of the Lich ascendancy node Eternal Life (for example, order of operations while Energy Shield is up), or is the intended behavior that life leech cannot be converted to energy shield leech while Eternal Life is allocated? Why does life regeneration work? This seems like an inconsistency.

Notes
- I’ve tested thoroughly (including with an instant-leech jewel), but I can’t produce ES leech from my attacks with this setup. I can provide repro steps or a short video if needed.
